International and Cross-Border Data Privacy Considerations in e-Discovery

This lecture will seek to highlight the privacy issues and challenges they create for e-discovery professionals in international litigation and regulatory proceedings.  As data privacy laws continue to evolve across different jurisdictions, so to must the compliance considerations for e-Discovery.  We will share and discuss our experiences working on complex, multi-jurisdictional e-Discovery projects to help illustrate some of these challenges we face and the considerations we must take into account.  This lecture aims to provide practical knowledge for Canadian e-Discovery professionals involved in international litigation and regulatory matters. Some of the jurisdictions we will highlight include the EU, US and APEC, etc.
